For students and professional journalists looking for a job, the panel will teach you how to land a job in the competitive journalism industry. Afterwards, there will be a resume critique provided by professionals from broadcast to online media industry.

About Greg Dawson (from NBC 7/39 site)
Greg Dawson became Vice President of News of NBC 7/39 in July of 2002 after 13 years at the station. Greg came to San Diego as a producer in September of 1989. Over the years, he produced nearly every newscast at the station and covered hundreds of local stories as a field producer.
Greg’s work as a special projects producer has taken him across the country and around the world covering such diverse stories as the war in Bosnia to the brown tree snake invasion in Guam. He has received 10 regional Emmy awards, 2 Golden Mic awards, and numerous other local honors.
Prior to coming to San Diego, Greg was a producer at KOLD-TV in Tucson, Ariz., KOBI-TV in Medford, Ore., and KCBS-TV in Los Angeles. Greg is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a degree in broadcast journalism.

Chris Jennewein (USLNN President)
Chris Jennewein is president of U.S. Local News Network, a startup publisher of local news Web sites in San Diego, Riverside and Orange counties in Southern California. USLNN sites rely on a core staff of journalists plus outside contributors and media partners to cover local communities and provide unique insight and commentary.
The first site, SDNN.com in San Diego, launched in late March and now reaches a monthly audience of over 200,000 people. The second site, SWRNN.com in Riverside County, debuted in August. OCLNN.com in Orange County went live Feb. 2.
Jennewein joined USLNN in June 2009 after a year as senior vice president and publisher for Greenspun Interactive in Las Vegas. From 2001 to 2008 he led The San Diego Union-Tribune’s SignOnSanDiego.com, one of the most popular and profitable newspaper Web sites. Previously he was vice president of operations for Knight Ridder Digital in San Jose. Under Jennewein’s leadership, Knight Ridder introduced the nation’s first complete online newspaper at the San Jose Mercury News in 1993.
He has been widely recognized as a pioneer in new media and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences. In 1999, he received Editor & Publisher magazine’s first EPpy award for individual achievement. In 1997, he was named a New Media Pioneer by the Newspaper Association of America.
Earlier in his career, Jennewein held multiple editing and management positions at The Atlanta Journal and Constitution, The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Tenn., and The Tampa Tribune. Jennewein is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (B.A. and M.A.) and the London School of Economics (M.Sc.). He lives in Del Mar, CA, with his wife, Emily, and twin 18-year-old daughters.
