Key responsibilities include writing and posting news stories using our content management system in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; recruiting and editing free-lance writers, bloggers and columnists; representing SDNN in the business community; and developing long-term innovative features.
Qualifications: 3+ years experience in business journalism, preferably online; previous experience managing and working with writers; expert familiarity with key San Diego companies, players and issues; comfort with online technologies such as social networking tools; competency shooting photos/videos; solid news judgment; an eye for trends on local and national business topics; working knowledge of AP style and newsroom protocols; excellent written and oral communication skills; sense of humor, attitude, passion, commitment, creativity, flexibility.
